What the evidence supports

Darvill's 2010 chapter reports topographic and geophysical surveys in 1993–96 and 2002 and illustrates preliminary results from a GPR traverse. It interprets reflections as constructional features and a possible central structure. A later Round Mounds project account characterises the 1990s geophysical search for prehistoric use as unsuccessful, while IOMHER says a prehistoric burial origin remains speculative and unsupported. This record confirms that GPR was used; it does not endorse an anomaly interpretation, burial claim or treasure claim.
